Restoring 55 tbird Jr (Radio Controlled)

Postby tbird-mike » Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:23 am

I am starting this string to show progress as I restore an early 1955 tbird JR. I found the car with an intact frame (Missing Motor) and a body that need refinishing but also intact. I have decided to install a permanent magnet motor in instead of the original starter motor. I them to plan to install radio control speed and steering control. I hope to be able to operate the car manually with the original switch or remotely by a standard RC radio. I will post progress on this string and will be asking for help on separate strings for individual items

1955 Tbird Jr restoration project. Ultimately this will be a radio controlled car. Part 1 video is of a 24 volt reversible 350 watt razor motor replacing the 6 volt ford starter. This U Tube video demonstrates the manual mode. When finished the car will operate in the manual or RC Mode. RC mode will be set as part 2 when completed .
